Singers between the ages of 10 to 17 are invited to join a new youth choir organised by the Leith Hill Musical Festival.
The LHMF Young Voices will give their debut performance on Saturday 14 April, singing John Rutter’s Mass of the Children under festival conductor Jonathan Willcocks.
Rehearsals for the inaugural performance will be held in February and March at The Priory School in Dorking.
Founded in 1905 by Lady Evangeline Farrer and Margaret Vaughan Williams, sister of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, the Leith Hill Musical Festival has a long history of commitment to music education. An annual Children’s Day was established in 1921, before being revived as a competition for school and youth choirs in 1989.
